[Question] How to organize Meetups

Hi fam! We’ve traditionally held meet-ups on the
second Saturday of every month in a democratically
chosen space(usually restaurants)- been doing that
for about 2 years(pre-covid19) now. When Corona
hit, we only held 2 virtual meet-ups, and haven’t
been able to hold them consistently- I’m to blame
for that. In future, how do you propose we hold
the meet-ups? Should we consider doing physical
meet-ups where we some how find a way to split up
groups into smaller sub-groups at a venue? Or if
it’s a virtual group, could someone volunteer to
help me set those up to guarantee consistency?

I think it makes sense to stick to virtual meetups for now. (At least till we get a vaccine lol)
If it helps I can take over and setup the meetups. I guess the next meetup would be November? And Google meet works. Yes?

Yes! That would be most helpful. Setting up would
involve making an announcement(preferrably here
and if possible one week ahead of time); and on
the WhatsApp group(since most people are there).

And Google meet works. Yes?

Yes! We could use Google Meet; but alas it has
privacy concerns(running non-free s/w). I don’t
mind using it though. People could express their
opinions in due time \m/\m/.

Meet is free and integrates well with Gmail.

As long as we are less than 100 guys we should be cool.

+1 on that. Meet it is, unless someone else
suggests otherwise(and proposese something else).

I don’t think we’d even reach 50 guys
